The Haill Six Incorporated Trades of Kirkcudbright held their annual Burns Supper on Saturday night Februray 22nd.
Chairman, Deacon Convener Ian D. Swan welcomed guests and members to a packed venue. Piper for the evening , Ian Weymss piped in the haggis which was skillfully addressed by General Clerk, Sandy Henry.
Master of York Cordwainers, Anne Reid toasted the Incorporated Trades. Henry Cairney of Calgary, Alberta gave an Immortal Memory which linked Kirkcudbright and Canada, for which he received a standing ovation.
Husband and wife duo, Bobby and Karen Kane toasted the Lasses and replied respectively with a good smattering of humour.
Champion reciter, Willie Horne recited the Twa Dugs skillfully and later his own composition, Grandpa’s First Funeral. Debuting was 15 year old singer /songwriter Katie Sturgeon who had the audience spellbound with her performance.
