Wigtown Based Therapeutic horsemanship Charity Gets Funding

Horses4Help Therapeutic horsemanship Charity based in Wigtown, Dumfries and Galloway, have recently received two funding grants to help them continue their great work.

Julie from Horses4 Help said “We are delighted and excited to announce that after considerable work and effort, we have received not 1 but 2 important funding grants for 2025! Huge thank you to all who helped and supported 🫶

The first is from Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway for Communities Metal Health and Wellbeing Fund for Adults. We will be delivering our newly ASDAN  Accredited 16+ course. This is a 2 week course (1 session per week).

The second fund is from The Holywood Trust. We are delighted that they are again supporting us (subject to completing their conditions of course) on a par with last year’s funding. This is especially significant to us as it shows they see and support the services we provide. We are truly grateful for their continuing support, advice and guidance.

Therapeutic horsemanship is the bringing together of people and horses to benefit the persons mental, emotional and physical wellbeing.

Why do we work with horses?
🐴 Horses don’t label.
🐴 Horses don’t diagnose.
🐴 Horses don’t judge
🐴 Horses don’t see ‘disorders’—they see people.

They respond to energy, intent and trust making them incredible partners offering profound connection, awareness and attunement to understanding and healing.

Who do we work with?
We  work with wide range of adults and children including those with behavioural challenges, mental health issues and learning difficulties. We also work with neurodivergent children and adults and those with challenging behaviour.

Therapeutic horsemanship is also beneficial for anyone looking to improve confidence and self awareness.

Please note, you are not coming to learn about horse, you are coming to learn about you!

Based in Wigtown, we will be resuming our courses and 1:1 sessions from the beginning of March and we will be posting more information shortly.

If you are a support worker, carer, teacher, GP, parent, support service provider or are interested for yourself, please get in touch.”
