Horses4Help CIC, is a Therapeutic Horsemanship Centre based in Wigtown That offer 1:1, Family or Group Sessions with ponies for local children, young people and adults needing mental, emotional or physical support.
Julie Irvine from Horses4Help Said “Just being in an outdoor setting and being in nature with our horses carries many great benefits including physical and psychological support.
Horses can offer physical and emotional support during the most trying times and horses give an incomparable sense of empowerment. Horses can provide a much-needed distraction from the worry of other life issues and concerns. Clients can gain a new sense of pride through accomplishment by learning to skillfully handle and control a 500kg horse!
We designed a unique 8 Week Equi-Learning Course, initially for secondary aged school children who were not coping in a classroom environment, to learn some curriculum and life and social skills though our horses, but this course has been adapted and used for other support groups so we are particularity keen to offer this to 16-25 year olds in our area.
We are delighted to announce that we are in the final stages of having this course ASDAN Accredited so participants could gain a much needed confidence and accomplishment achievement!
We provided 1:1 private sessions if people would prefer and our courses include a full session of our “Mindfulness Based activities with Horses and Nature” for something different.
Due to a fantastic Funding Grant from The Holywood Trust we can now offer these sessions at a greatly reduced price or even free in some cases.
Please see our website for further details www.horses4help.org or please feel free to give me a call on 07786 247343. We’d love to show you how or ponies can help make a difference.”
