Wigtownshire Wellbeing And Cancer (WWAC) is pleased to announce the launch of a new monthly support group – WWAC Wigtown Cancer Drop-In – starting Thursday 1st May at The Smiddy, Low Vennel, Wigtown.
This free monthly group is open to anyone affected by cancer, including those living with a diagnosis, carers, friends and family members. The group is designed to offer a warm, relaxed environment where people can connect, share experiences, and support one another over a cuppa and a slice of cake.
Meetings will be held on the first Thursday of every month from 2:30pm to 4:00pm at The Smiddy. The group will be facilitated by WWAC volunteers with lived experience and supported by WWAC.
“Our aim is to provide a safe, welcoming group for people to simply talk, listen, and be together, without pressure or expectations. This isn’t counselling, but a chance to connect with others who truly understand what it means to be affected by cancer,” said Susan, one of the group’s volunteers.
Confidentiality is respected at all times, and attendees are welcome to share as much or as little as they feel comfortable with.
