Youth Beatz will return to Park Farm Showfield in Dumfries on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 July, and Scotland’s largest free youth music event looks set to be bigger and better than ever – with all tickets gone in a record time of just 48 hours.
The success of the Festival is a huge credit to all of those who have volunteered over the years, with 2022 seeing 172 volunteers of all ages come together to donate a combined total of 8,600 hours’ worth of their time to the event, whether this was taking photographs of the event, or working in staff welfare.
Chair of Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Communities Committee, Councillor Ian Blake said: “Youth Beatz provides an excellent opportunity for young people and adults to get involved in helping to deliver Scotland’s largest free youth music festival. There are plenty of opportunities to suit all interests whether this is in event management or for those who want to work with young people. If you have some spare time or would like to get some experience we would be delighted to hear from you.”
For 2023 we have lots of exciting volunteering opportunities available that can be tailored to fit individual skills and talents. From production and drama performance, videography and photography, media and promotion, set design, box office, event infrastructure or community engagement to name just a few, we have something for everyone.
If you are interested in volunteering at Youth Beatz Festival 2023 you have until Monday 5 June to express your interest. We welcome applications from everyone, whether it’s to give back to your local community, you have some spare time or you want to gain some experience or expertise in your industry of choice.
Vice Chair of Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Communities Committee, Councillor Jackie McCamon said: “Our Council is very grateful to those who choose to volunteer their time to this fantastic event that brings so much to our region. We are also delighted that we will once again be welcoming back young volunteers from across Scotland who will be participating in their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award gold level residential through the Festival.”
