Great news: Artists Gordon and Mark want your views.

head of steam building up in Stranraer concerning regeneration and the creative sector. Blind Johnnie was a historical musician from Stranraer who is about to be immortalised via an artists interpretation. We would like people to attend the consultation which will be held in Stranraer next week

The artists have been commissioned to take forward the designs of Stranraer’s historical Character Blind Johnnie. Gordon Rodgers and Mark Renn from Renn Associates were selected by the Steering Group and have now been commissioned to take forward the Arts Interpretation project for Stranraer.

The first steps for the artists are to meet the community and discuss the options for the concept designs, therefore they would like to hear your thoughts and views in the first of the consultative events on the subject.

Blind Johnnie will be interpreted in the main design that will stand at a prime location at the top of King Street – Two other historical characters will also be discussed as part of the consultation – Stranraer Fish Wives and Admiral Sir John Ross, and they will form smaller interpretive designs as part of the public realm developments  as Stranraer & Loch Ryan Regeneration progresses.
