A brand new way to show off local artistic talent – and it’s happening in one of our smallest villages!
Glentrool and Bargrennan Community Trust are launching a small community project that supports local artists and craftspeople by allowing them to exhibit and work in an affordable studio space.
Glentrool Studios & Gallery will open its doors to the public for the first time on the 5th of July in Glentrool Community Centre (which was formerly the village primary school). Run by the artists and makers themselves, there will initially be four studios plus gallery space for paintings and photography. Spring Fling potter Andrew Priestman will be displaying his pots and Spring Fling photographer Michal Šúr will have some of his hauntingly beautiful photography on show. You can also see Aldaron Woodcrafts’ well-made, beautiful and functional woodwork, Red Squirrel Crafts’ unique jewellery inspired by the nature of Galloway, Happysnail Crafts hand knitted hats and scarves and locally inspired images by Galloway Photography.
Glentrool Studios & Gallery is open to the public until the end of September 11am-4pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays.
