Seasonal inspiration comes to Gracefield Arts Centre in Dumfries at the end of this month with the launch of a new exhibition in Gallery 2. Frost and Fire is presented by Circle Arts, a group of artists from the borderlands of England and Scotland, who work with clay, glass, textiles, natural materials and paint. Frost & Fire encompasses the range of approaches and processes which the individual artists use in their different practices in a range of work which takes the colours, textures and patterns of winter as a starting point. The artists will be in Gracefield on Saturday 28th November from 2- 4pm to open the exhibition so please join us for a chat and some seasonal refreshments. If you want to try your hand at creative artwork, Norma is running a special workshop for young and old in the morning of the 28th (though children under 5 will need adult help). Join her for a lovely parent-and-child workshop with the chance to make a special Christmas gift of a tree decoration and tea light, or come simply along with a friend for a fun morning workshop. Spaces still available in two sessions: 11:30 – 12:30pm and 1:00 – 2:00pm – cost £4 per person, call (01387) 262084 to book.
