Future of CatStrand Arts programme assured.

The Glenkens Community and Arts Trust (GCAT) is delighted to confirm that Creative Scotland has awarded them full funding for their CatStrand Arts programme in the national announcements today. As part of a nation-wide scheme designed to give the arts sector some certainty, the settlement is for 3-years – unprecedented support in CatStrand Art’s 17-year history.

Peter Renwick, Creative Director of CatStrand Arts, said, “We are over the moon to have been fully supported by Creative Scotland’s Multi Year Fund in today’s announcement. This gives the CatStrand Arts programme unprecedented security, with core funding secured to 2028. It allows us to continue our work with national, regional and local artists to deliver outstanding Touring Arts programmes for the communities of the Glenkens and all across SW Scotland. We are hugely grateful for this support, which secures CatStrand both as a cultural Hub of the highest calibre and as a key component of the Glenkens economy. Thank you to everyone who has supported CatStrand Arts over the years – you are a big part of this success.”
Helen Keron, Chief Exec of GCAT, said “This award is a testament to the ambition we have for CatStrand and our long track record of excellent delivery – the work of many people now and over the years. This award, plus other key support from organisations such as the Glenkens and District Community Fund and The Holywood Trust, means that we are going to be able to carry on making a huge difference to the people of the Glenkens and beyond into the long term, which is fantastic.”
