DSC_0051Broughton House and Garden in Kirkcudbright, the former home of painter and Glasgow Boy E A Hornel, will provide the venue for a performance of operatic arias. Galloway is the childhood home of Lauren McQuistin who was brought up on a farm near Stranraer. She has been studying with Margaret Izatt at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and at 21 has already achieved international success including the Sergei Leiferkus competition for voice in Moscow. Lauren is also a founder member of Les Sirenes female chamber choir. She will be accompanied on the evening by pianist Christine Job.

In addition to the beauty of the music, which will be performed in Hornel’s elegant gallery, the audience will be able to enjoy the artist’s Japanese-inspired riverside-garden, at its best in July.

The performance will take place on Thursday 2 July at 7.30pm. The ticket price of £8 (£4 conc) includes a glass of wine or soft drink. Tickets can be booked by phoning 01557 330437.
