Registration for Moffat Youth Theatre’s Autumn term is now open, with workshops on offer for young people aged 5 to 25.
The Studio Theatre will open its doors for the first term of Moffat Youth Theatre since it went dark in 2014.
Workshops will begin on Saturday 26th August, giving children and young people a chance to learn performance skills from experienced theatre professionals.
Catherine Major, trustee and workshop leader at MYT, said: “We’ve been working hard over the summer to get the theatre in order and can’t wait to open our doors to the next generation of creative young people in Moffat.
“Whether you want to learn performance skills, make new friends or just have fun, MYT is the perfect place to do it.”
A new committee of trustees, which includes three former MYT students, took over the theatre in June.
The team of volunteers has already received several messages of support from the local community online.
The youth theatre will include a Young Company for young adults aged 15 to 25 to explore their creativity, perform exciting new work and link into the Scottish theatre scene.
Since it was founded in 1982 by Ericka Hulle, MYT has supported hundreds of young people in Moffat to develop their creative talents and gain important life skills.
You can request an online registration form at thestudiotheatre.co.uk or by texting MYT on 07511 438 885.
