A team of student artists from Dumfries and Galloway College have launched an exciting new exhibition showcasing their latest work.
The poster and logo collection, called The Galloway Line, draws inspiration from a train line that used to run between Dumfries and Stranraer, the sites of both of the colleges’ campuses.
Due to on-going COVID-19 restrictions, the students have decided to display their work online, to make it as accessible to the public as possible.
HND Art and Design students, Kirsty MacDonald, Ami Robb, Caitlyn MacLeod, Kaela White, Emily Saunders, Katelynn Sneddon, and Pauline Richardson, under the guidance of Art and Design Lecturer, Joanna Shennan, worked together on the project which draws inspiration from the tracks and ticket designs.
The work also functions as a study of use of lines as symbols of connecting people and places, in the past, now, and in the future.
The artwork is available for purchase via the exhibition website and the artists are also available for other commissions.
Dumfries and Galloway College is proud of the record its students have of working with others and of the innovative and dynamic way they share their work.
