The hunt begins for 32 young people, hailing from every secondary school in the region.
Electric Theatre Workshop, producers of Big Burns Supper, Carlisle Fringe Festival, Blood Orange and the five star show, Le Haggis, are about to create their first major performance project that will include young people from every corner of the region.
A team of Producers are about visit every corner of the region looking for performing talent which will include musicians, dancers and actors.
Successful young people will become part of a new ensemble based in Kirkcudbright for three weeks in July and August which will include intensive rehearsals to make the first ever region wide show created by the next generation of performance makers.
Young people will be transported every day to the rehearsals which will culminate towards a massive outdoor performance to be staged in Kirkcudbright in August.
Participation in the ensemble is free, and transport will be provided from every corner of Dumfries & Galloway to help make the project accessible to everybody.
Young people need to be available to take part between 20th July and 12th August.
Jack Finlay, Associate Producer leading the project said:
“We are really keen to hear from young people aged between 13 and 21, who are enthusiastic about creating performance and who would love to get this experience of a life-time, through the amazing opportunity, as part of the Year of Young People.
We can’t wait to see what talent there is throughout the entire region”
Young people who are interested in finding out about the project can attend an information event at their school or they can log onto http://www.bigburnssupper.com/about-us/regional-ensemble.php
