Tailormade Coaching Support For Scotland’s Creatives

Creative Scotland has announced a new project in collaboration with Crowdfunder – the UK’s largest crowdfunding platform – offering expert coaching and Creative Scotland match funding, to support Scotland’s creatives to run crowdfunding campaigns.

The programme will launch with a series of introductory, free to attend webinars:

From Friday 19 June 2020, interested parties will be invited to submit a brief proposal by Monday 6 July 2020. A shortlist of projects, selected by Crowdfunder and Creative Scotland, will receive tailored coaching support from the expert Crowdfunder team to set up their campaigns.

Jason NuttallProgramme DirectorCrowdfunder said: “Crowdfunding is so much more than raising money. It gives people and organisations a platform to validate ideas, raise awareness of new projects, and build lasting relationships with their supporters. It’s also an innovative way to fund a creative project and grow a business in the aftermath of Covid-19. We’re looking forward to seeing the exciting ideas Scotland’s creatives are looking to crowdfund for.”
Jackie StewartCreative Industries OfficerCreative Scotland said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for practitioners and organisations across Scotland to raise funds for creative projects, as well as grow awareness of their work, and foster meaningful relationships with audiences. We hope that this project will support a range of creativity across the country, and offer Scottish audiences new opportunities to connect with the arts, screen and creative industries.”

Proposals are invited from all artforms, and shortlisted projects will be announced on Friday 10 July.

Creative Scotland will contribute a total of £20,000 of match funding, and entrants can receive up to £5,000 towards their projects.

Proposal criteria, information about the project and about Crowdfunder is available on the Crowdfunder website.
