Operation Safety 2015 will take place between Monday 21 September and Friday 9 October 2015. Operation Safety is a multi agency event which involves Police Scotland, The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, Scottish Ambulance Service and Scottish Power. The initiative will involve some 1100 primary seven school children attending the venue at the Dupont Teijin Films factory at Cargenbridge, Dumfries, where they will given key messages relating to internet safety, firework safety, first aid and safety around electricity.
Constable Audrey Johnstone of Police Scotland said “this event is always well received by the children who attend and feedback over the years indicates that this type of event seems gets the safety message across to the children through experiential learning. It is hard going for those delivering the training but we do see the benefits that the children get from their experience.”
