15 Jobs To Go At Kirkcudbright Tesco

Galloway and West Dumfries MSP Finlay Carson has expressed his disappointment at job losses which are set to occur later this month at Kirkcudbright’s Tesco Metro store.

The loacl MSP has written to the supermarket, asking how they are helping those employees who will lose their jobs find alternative employment as well as assisting those who will have hours reduced.

Mr Carson believes that the 15 job losses that have been mentioned so far will have a significant impact on Kirkcudbright and the surrounding area.

Commenting, Finlay Carson MSP said: “It is extremely disappointing that there is set to be job losses at Kirkcudbright’s Tesco Metro store.
“My thoughts are with those employees and their families who are going to be affected.
“Losing 15 jobs in a small rural community like Kirkcudbright has a much greater impact than it would have in urban areas.
“That is why I have written to Tesco bosses to ask them how they are minimising the impact and helping employees find alternative employment as soon as possible.
“I will be continuing to monitor this situation and offer any support I can to affected workers.”
