With money given away six days a week, Queen of the South’s prize draw has brought joy to many over the years. Now the club are pleased to announce that they have used some of the funds raised to help those less fortunate, with a donation to the Cash for Kids charity.
Prize draw organiser, Christine Findlater who presented the cheque to Tommy Jardine of Cash for Kids said “The prize draw is important income for the club and with prizes throughout the year ranging from £25 up to the chance of winning a new car at the end of every season, then it’s also great for those who take part. But on the other side of things it also allows the club to make charitable donations and for us to be able to make a contribution that can bring a little joy to kids across the region then it’s a great sense of achievement. The more people support the draw the more we can put some of the money back into the community via prizes and charitable organisations”.
With two daily prize winners of £25 and £50 Monday to Friday and a weekly winner of £500 on a Saturday, nearly a dozen people who enter the weekly draw boost their bank balances for just a pound a week. On top of that if they want to upgrade to the Delux draw for an extra pound then they have the monthly chance of winning £1,000. The monthly draw prize increases to £3000 at Christmas and as mentioned entrants have the chance to win a brand new car in the draw which takes place at the final home game of each season.
