A 52 year old man has died following a road crash on the A75, near Carsluith Village, Newton Stewart, on Saturday 27 June 2015.
Dr Robert Murphie (52), from Braehead, Kirkinner, Newton Stewart, died when his Ducati motorcycle was involved in a collision with a Landrover around 1140 hours yesterday morning. Dr Murphie, known as Robbie, died at the scene. His family are aware.
The 65 year old male driver of the Landrover and his female passenger, aged 44, were not injured.
The A75 at Carsluith Village was closed for approximately seven and a half hours, re-opening at 1930 hours. Local diversions were put in place.
Enquiries in to the crash are ongoing.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
