Shortly before 09.00am on Tuesday 22 November 2016 a road traffic collision happened on the B725 road near to Bankend, Dumfries, when a single decker coach left the road and went into a ditch.
The driver of the bus, a 59 year old man from Dumfries had 22 passengers on board, students, travelling to Dumfries College. As a result of the collision seven people received minor injuries and were taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment for minor injuries including cuts and bruises. The driver of the bus was slightly injured and treated at the scene.
Constable Stuart Delaney of the Road Policing Unit said “the cause of the crash is still being investigated and we are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed it. The road at the scene was closed until the bus was recovered. The students who were uninjured were later taken on to the college.”
