FATAL FIRE
An 89 year old woman was pronounced dead at the scene of a fire at a house in St John’s Place in Sorbie, Newton Stewart, on Monday 26 January 2015. Fire was discovered at the house at around 1930 hours on Monday evening and the elderly female occupant was removed from the house by neighbours. The fire was extinguished by the Fire and Rescue Service. A joint investigation with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Police Scotland into the cause of the fire will take place on Tuesday 27 January 2015. The Procurator Fiscal has been informed.
