DUAL THE A75 CAMPAIGN TEAM LAUNCH SCOTTISH PARLIAMENT PETITION

Campaigners from Dumfries and Galloway have launched a Scottish Parliament petition demanding the A75 to be upgraded to a dual carriageway. The A75 is over 90 miles long between Gretna and Stranraer and plays an important role as a euro route in terms of trade, tourism and business for the area.

Three teenagers launched the ‘Dual The A75’ Facebook page back in February with the goal of gathering support and momentum for such an upgrade to take place. The page has over 3000 followers and is managed by eight individuals.

‘Dual The A75’ campaigner Matt Halliday requested to the Scottish Parliament Petitions Committee for the launch of the petition, which finally went live on the 1st of June. The petition will run for 6 weeks and will close on the 13th of July.

The campaigners hope to gather as many signatures as they can within 6 weeks. Anybody who wishes to sign the petition can do so at this web address: https://www.parliament.scot/GettingInvolved/Petitions/A75RoadUpgrade
