ATTEMPTED THEFT OF £14,000 DIGGER, LOCKERBIE

Police Scotland is investigating the attempted theft of a yellow coloured JCB tracked digger from a field at Roberthill, Lockerbie.  The digger was moved across a field towards a nearby road in what appears an attempt to steal it.  The digger is valued at around £14,000.

Constable Gary Gillan at Lockerbie said “sometime overnight Thursday 24/Friday 25 March 2016 the eight ton digger was moved across a field to the edge of the nearby road in what looks like an attempt to steal it.  We are asking anyone who may have been in this area and saw anything suspicious to get in touch with us at Lockerbie on the 101 number.  It may be that lights have been seen in the field or a large vehicle seen parked on the roadway nearby, and we want anyone who might have information which may help us catch those responsible to get in touch.
