Paddy’s Ultra Endurance Cycle Challenge takes place all this week – he is pedaling his yellow vintage Raleigh Chopper bike. almost 300 miles from Wrexham to Glasgow.
The route will take him through eight counties – Flintshire, Cheshire, Merseyside, Lancashire – including a stop at Preston, where this year’s Radio 2 in the Park took place in Moor Park – onto Westmorland, Cumberland, Dumfriesshire and Lanarkshire, aiming to finish on the morning of Friday 15 November at the BBC’s Pacific Quay building in Scotland.
He’ll be passing through and stopping off at villages and towns along the way to meet as many Radio 2 listeners as possible as they cheer him on and help him to raise much needed funds that will help make life lighter for children across the UK.
The route map shows he will be passing through or nearby, Gretna, Kirkpatrick Flemming, Middlebie, Lockerbie, JohnstoneBridge, Beattock, Moffat, on his journey to Glasgow.
You will be able to get upto date information on his exact whereabouts and route on this link https://www.bbcchildreninneed.co.uk/shows/paddytracker/ and by listening to updates on BBC Radio2.
So far Paddy has raised over £266,000, he said ” Oh my days! It’s unbelievable isn’t it… it’s unbelievable. Thank you so much every single person who’s come out and put money in the buckets and who are donating online. Keep it going, we need as much as we can get… the blisters on my bottom are worth it!”
