A Stranraer family have won a family ticket to watch what promises to be a stunning performance at open-air theatre in Castle Kennedy Gardens this Summer.
The Erskine family are winners of a prize draw which was part of the visitor attraction’s
Easter Egg Bonanza that took place between 2 and 19 April.
The Easter Egg trail proved popular with locals and visitors alike and the Erskine family’s
entry was plucked from around 250 prize draw entries received.
Now the family will enjoy a quality outdoor performance of the Sorcerer’s Apprentice, performed by Illyria, which takes place at the 16th century ruins of Castle Kennedy in Castle Kennedy Gardens on Tuesday 21 July.
Fraser Erskine, said;
“We are delighted to win this family ticket to see the Sorcerer’s Apprentice open-air Theatre at Castle Kennedy Gardens. We really enjoyed the Easter Egg Bonanza in April. Doing the quiz around the lovely gardens and winning this prize is an added bonus to our visit.”
Spectators are warned that the show features a HUGE amount of water and are dared to sit in the ‘splash zone’! With a spectacular set from George’s Marvellous Medicine, amazing effects from the scenic builders of The Twits, great original music and eye-popping magic illusions created by the world famous illusionist, Paul Daniels, the theatre performance promises to be a real treat for people living or visiting the Rhins of Galloway.
The family ticket to the open-air theatre is worth nearly £50 and this is just one of the exciting events being hosted at Castle Kennedy Gardens this season. New events which have recently attracted many families include den and tepee building as well as firm favourites such as pond dipping and minibeast adventures.
This weekend (Sunday 31 May) Garden Ranger, Elizabeth Tindal, will be showing families how to light and cook on a fire safely and another Garden Ranger family event titled ‘We’re Going On A Bear Hunt’ – based on Michael Rosen’s popular children’s book – will debut in August.
