NHS Dumfries and Galloway is working closely with the region’s community pharmacies to ensure we are best placed to meet the challenges of the COVID-19 situation
Director of Pharmacy Graeme Bryson said: “To help cope with the increases demand on pharmacy services, community pharmacies may be operating with restricted access to patients for short, fixed periods.
“Community pharmacies will display details of any restrictions to access on front doors and windows.
“This will allow pharmacy teams to process prescriptions and restock medicines deliveries from their suppliers.
“Community pharmacy is one of our key healthcare professional groups and it is vital that we keep the network functioning.
“We are asking the public to understand that this may cause some inconvenience to some patients but it is vital that community pharmacy have the ability to concentrate on providing safe services at this challenging time.”
