Chris Ingram Announced as New President at Kirkcudbright Rotary

Kirkcudbright Rotary is pleased to welcome their incoming President for 2016-2017 – Mr Chris Ingram. Already off to another busy year, Chris has welcomed the District Governor, awarded prizes to the Young Mechanic and is now preparing for a hectic but fun ladened end to the summer with our Annual Recycle Sportive on Sat 13th Aug, Moat Brae Festivities on Sat 20th and the great Duck Race (currently receiving attention from as far away as Australia, Canada and Papau New Guinea) on Sun 21st Aug. These events for all the family allow our Club to support and give assistance locally and internationally.
A retired chartered forester originally from north-east England. Chris has worked in most aspects of forestry in Zambia, Scotland and Malawi before becoming a lecturer and senior course team leader in arboriculture at Merrist Wood College in Surrey, then ending his career as an arboricultural consultant in south-eastern England. Chris with his wife Jean have lived in Kirkcudbright since September 2009 and joined Rotary in 2010. In addition to Rotary he enjoys cycling, curling, music and several interest groups in the university of the third age.
