Dumfries and Galloway based charity “Compass Brain Injury Specialists” are proud to announce their exciting new partnership with eleven year old Dumfries kart racing star, Kieran Conchie.
Kieran will take on the role of Youth Ambassador for the charity delivering important messages to youngsters up to 18 years old. He will highlight the importance of prevention of injury/death via road safety and wearing helmets along with supporting Compass’s existing clients deal with their conditions.
Compass Brain Injury Specialists Ltd is a Charity registered in Scotland who’s patron is Dumfries’s own Motorsport superstar Allan McNish. They provide slow-stream cognitive rehabilitation and support to survivors of Acquired Brain Injury. The services are commissioned by NHS and Social Work in Dumfries and Galloway but can also be accessed privately.

Kieran impressed us not only with his karting prowess but also his commitment to achieve success along with his knowledge of road safety, awareness of prevention of injury and his positive attitude. Kieran will be an excellent role model to the children and young people in our Services and the wider community. This is particularly pertinent in 2018, the Year of The Young People in Scotland. Compass is excited about the year ahead with Kieran and for the children and young people who access our services.”
Kieran added “I am delighted to have been asked to take on this role and cant wait to get started. I really want to make a difference using my racing experience to help those in my local community”
Compass and Kieran hope the partnership will reinforce the message surrounding wearing helmets, breakdown stigmas and change behaviours in youngsters.
