Dumfries and Galloway Council Launch Contact Cards

Dumfries and Galloway Council values the feedback received from members of our local communities and is making it easier for the public to contact them.

A Council Spoikesperson stated “Our Streetscene Operatives and Community Safety Officers are often approached by members of the public on a wide range of queries about the services our Council provides. Being an innovative group of staff members, they came up with the idea of a Contact Us Contact card. The cards provide details of the different ways that you can contact us and signpost you to where you can get help and assistance on your enquiry.”
Councillor Andy Ferguson, Chair of Communities Committee explains why these cards are so important. Andy said;
“The cards provide our staff with a way in which to defuse what can become difficult conversations by signposting members of the public to the most appropriate place to access information or find answers to their queries on the various Services the Council provides.”

Every one of our 131 Streetscene Operatives and 19 Community Safety Officers carry the contact cards to hand out to the public. Councillor John Martin, Vice Chair of Communities Committee feels that being able to successfully help members of the public to access information and get the assistance they need is vital for staff.

He said;
“It adds an additional layer of professionalism to how our staff conduct themselves and carry out their roles.”
