DANCING IN SUPPORT OF GALLOWAY MOUNTAIN RESCUE

1 a 1 a galloway mountain rescueThe Twynholm Scottish Country Dancers recently donated the proceeds of their Annual Dance to Galloway Mountain Rescue Team.
A total of £344 was raised at the event and a few of the dancers recently visited a team training event to present the cheque to Chairman Andy Margerison.
Andy Margerison said, “We greatly appreciate the support of the dancers especially as we anticipate a lot of additional expense in the coming months, replacing equipment for the Castle Douglas section of the team. This donation will help fund that ongoing replacement program.”
“Many people don’t appreciate that the annual team running costs of around £30,000, need to be raised entirely by support like this, and we are grateful that the dancers who attended the event have been so generous”.
The country dancers resume their weekly meetings at 7.30pm on Wednesday 10th September at Twynholm Village Hall and new members are always welcome.
