Deputy First Minister John Swinney will be officially opening Dalbeattie High School and St Joseph’s College in Dumfries and Galloway this week.
Both projects are part of the Scottish Government’s ambitious £1.8 billion Schools for the Future programme which began in 2009 and will see more than 117 new schools delivered throughout Scotland.
The Deputy First Minister said:
“We want all of our learners to have access to state of the art facilities that young people want to learn in and parents and staff can be proud of.
“These three new schools provide innovative and inspirational learning facilities that can make a real difference to educational outcomes.
“Through our £1.8 billion Schools for the Future Programme we are delivering at least one new school project in every local authority in Scotland with 117 schools constructed or refurbished by March 2020.”
