Dumfries and Galloway College’s (DGC) Celebration of Success day at its Stranraer campus has been hailed as a huge hit with staff and students alike.
The event which took place on Friday, June 16, gave learners the chance to enjoy their achievements with friends and lecturers as they received their certificates from DGC Principal Joanna Campbell and the Chair of the Board of Management, Caroline Stuart, with their names being announced by Depute Principal Douglas Dickson.
Each student received a certificate and then followed a selection of Student of the Year awards for each class (winners below).
After the prizegiving ceremony —attended by local politicians and business leaders which included MSPs Finlay Carson and Willie Scobie, as well as Karen O’Rourke from the Better Lives Partnership — all of the students, staff and guests came together for a fantastic lunch and photographs to commemorate the big day.
Joanna Campbell, Dumfries and Galloway College Principal, said: “Our ‘Celebration of Success’ at Stranraer was a great celebration and a huge success.
“It was such a delight to present the students with their certificates as we honoured their achievements during this academic year.
“All of our staff and lecturers thoroughly enjoyed chatting with the students and hearing about their hopes for the future — which certainly look just as bright as the sunshine on the day!”
