Dumfries & Gallloway Libraries Offer Free Driving Theory Test Practice For New Drivers

Dumfries and Galloway residents who are learning to drive can now practice for the Driving Theory Test through their local library.
1 a 1 a drive 4Dumfries and Galloway Libraries, Information and Archives has just added Theory Test Pro to its growing list of internet services available freely to its borrowers. This service provides a highly realistic online simulation of the UK’s driving theory test. It contains the entire official test question bank, hazard perception video clips and an online version of the Highway Code.
All this material is licensed from the Driving Standards Agency, the people who set the tests. Theory Test Pro’s material is licensed from the Driving Standards Agency (DSA), so learner drivers can be assured that the practice questions they’re given are from the people who set the official tests.
Access to Theory Test Pro is free for borrowers who call in to any Dumfries and Galloway Library or Customer Service facility. Borrowers can also access Theory Test Pro from outside of the library using their library card.

Dumfries and Galloway residents without a library membership can obtain one easily by visiting any Dumfries and Galloway Library or Customer Service facility. You can find your local library by visiting the “Find my nearest” section Council’s website at http://www.dumgal.gov.uk
Chair of Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Community and Customer Services Committee, Councillor Tom McAughtrie, said;
“Local libraries offer a wealth of free resources which are most welcome in these harsher times. Theory Test Pro allows learner drivers to prepare for their written test using the technology they’ve grown up with – computers and tablets, It couldn’t be simpler all you need is your library membership, an email address and access to the internet to ensure you pass first time.”
