Dumfries & Galloway College Principal Appointed Jisc Trustee

Dumfries and Galloway College Principal, Joanna Campbell, has been appointed as further education trustee of digital solutions for UK education and research provider, Jisc.

The new role will see the Principal sit alongside other sector leaders, Dr David Pilsbury and Professor Anthony Forster, on the organisation’s board, chaired by Professor Paul Boyle.

Jisc strives to help the United Kingdom be the most digitally advanced further education, higher education, and research nation in the world.

The Dumfries and Galloway College Principal has developed her expertise in digital throughout her 22 years as a computing lecturer and her time in college management where she has focused on curriculum innovation, widening access, change management, and performance excellence.

She has achieved a significant amount of success in her time as Principal and will bring the skills she has used to her role with Jisc as it continues implementing its 2019-2022 strategy.

In the coming years, Jisc aims to transition to a membership organisation, build on its achievements so far, and continue to work to the satisfaction of its members and funders.

Dumfries and Galloway College, its staff, students, and leadership team, are proud to be led by the Principal and has every confidence that she will use her skills and experience to help Jisc achieve and exceed its goals.

>Principal Joanna Campbell said: “I am very proud to be asked to be a further education trustee for Jisc.

“The board, executive team, and Jisc’s other stakeholders are all highly-motivated and dedicated and I’m very excited to be working with them.

“Technology for education and research is fundamental to the future success of our sector across the UK and I’m confident that Jisc can play a key role in making us a world-leader in this vital area.”
