Minister for Children and Young People, Maree Todd MSP, recently held a question and answer session with Early Education & Childcare students at Dumfries and Galloway College.
The Minister took questions from HNC Childhood Practice and National Certificate (Level 6) Early Education and Childcare students during a recent visit to the college’s campus in Dumfries. Students from both the Dumfries & Stranraer Campuses were in attendance.
The college also welcomed back previous HNC students who are now studying a BA in Childhood studies at UWS.
Ms Todd was also given a tour of the state-of-the-art campus which included visiting The Point, student support and advice service and the newly established Breathing Space bench.
Principal Joanna Campbell and Student Association President Nikki Vjatschlav were present to greet the Minister when she arrived on campus while Head of Curriculum Laura Webster hosted the question and answer session.
Reaching out and maintaining positive working relationships across all sectors, including with the government, has been marked out as a priority of Principal Joanna Campbell and her team since she entered the post and will continue to be so into the future.
