A Dumfries and Galloway College staff member has been awarded with the prestigious British Empire Medal.
Team Leader Alison Martin was presented with her medal by Lord Lieutenant Fiona Armstrong at a ceremony at the college’s Henry Duncan Innovation and Research Centre in Dumfries.
She was awarded the prize in recognition of her services to young people in the Dumfries and Galloway area.
Alison is a long-standing and dedicated employee of Dumfries and Galloway College and has played a pivotal role in The Prince’s Trust team she leads.
She is a respected and well-liked member of the college community who has made a significant contribution to it throughout her time here.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Prince’s Trust, senior members of the college team, Prince’s Trust students, and members of Alison’s family.
All aspects of the ceremony, and the following lunch, were carried out in full compliance with social distancing and other hygiene measures required by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Dumfries and Galloway College extends its congratulations to Alison for her achievement and thanks her for everything she has done for the community.
