Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Employability and Skills Team is working with NHS Dumfries & Galloway to recruit and train staff to work on the delivery of the new acute district general hospital for the region.
Dumfries & Galloway Total Access Point (DGTAP) provides a single point of contact for the main contractors Laing O’Rourke to advertise and match job opportunities. A database for potential candidates with a range of experiences from work experience, graduate and cadet placements through to Modern Apprenticeships has been created. DGTAP will also co-ordinate work with schools to raise awareness of careers in engineering, construction and other areas.
Cllr Colin Smyth, chairman of the Council’s Economy, Environment and Infrastructure Committee said
“Being involved in such a huge project presents a fantastic opportunity to tap into local talent and provides an excellent career platform for a diverse range of opportunities. By using the experience, skills and abilities of our DGTAP service, we are ensuring that we match the needs of Laing O’Rourke to the needs of our community.”
If you would like to find out more about a range of employment opportunities working with Laing O’Rourke on this exciting project please contact DGTAP on [email protected] or phone the Council on 030 33 33 3000 and ask to speak to the Employer Engagement Officer.
