Kerris Parkinson and her family from Dumfries contacted DGWGO this week and asked us if we could help!
Kerris told RB “Earlier this year my five year old cousin ‘Theo Power’ was diagnosed with stage four Neuroblastoma cancer, because his cancer is so advanced, the chances of chemotherapy working alone here are very small. With the survival rate in the UK being only 43% you can imagine it’s a huge worry for the family. Therefore we are sending him to America for his last stage of treatment where the survival rate is 68% and the chances of staying in remission are much higher. This however comes at a high cost, the treatment ranges from £200,000-£250,000 therefore we are fundraising like crazy to help this little boy beat this dreadful disease.”
One of our many events is the quiz and concert evening this Friday at the Buccleuch and Queensbury Arms Hotel in Thornhill at 6pm, tickets are £10 each for adults and £5 for children which includes the chance to win one of the many prizes from the quiz as well as watching some of Dumfries and Galloway’s local talent and this also includes the buffet.”

Your entry fee includes the chance to win some of the fantastic prizes within the quiz, including a meal for two at the Buccleuch, the opportunity to listen to the fabulous local talent from Dumfries and Galloway as well as enjoying the buffet provided by the hotel chefs. Tickets can be purchased on the door.
All of the profits raised on the night will be going towards five year old Theo Power’s treatment.
