Police are again appealing for help in another case of indecent exposure which happened on the cycle path, at the rear of Bannatynes Health Club in Dumfries at around 1630 hours on Tuesday 12 August 2014. At that time a 60 year old woman was confronted by a man who indecently exposed himself to her. The woman carried on walking along the path and, near the end, made to leave the path onto the Edinburgh Road, when she was again confronted by the same man, who again exposed himself to her. Nothing was said by the man who then ran off along the cycle path heading towards the St Mary’s Industrial Estate.
The man is described as being about 5’4” tall, short hair, possibly thinning, round face, stocky build, had no obvious facial hair, tattoos or piercings. He was wearing a light blue coloured waterproof jacket, which had complimentary colours running down the arms, blue leisure trousers with a white stripe down the leg.
Inspector Stuart Wilson of the Community Safety Team said “this is another case of a lone woman being subjected to this type of disgusting behaviour. In this case the alarming thing is that this man has carried out the act twice to the same lady in quick succession. The description of this man is not dissimilar to the perpetrator of two other cases of indecent exposure reported to us, one on the Glencaple Road back in June 2014 and another in Church Street in March 2014.
“We are appealing to the public who may have been on the cycle path at anytime yesterday to get in touch if they can help identify this man, or indeed anyone who recognises the description and may know who he is. Calls can be made to Police Scotland on 101, or if the caller wishes to remain anonymous, then through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
