The League of Friends Shop at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary has attained the Healthcare Retail Standard awarded by the Scottish Grocers Federation.
The Scottish Government and NHS Health Scotland is committed to making our health service health promoting through all the services it provides; this includes food and drink that staff, patients and visitors buy from outlets across the NHS.
The Healthcare Retail Standard is a set of criteria developed for retail outlets in healthcare settings across Scotland. The standard requires at least 50% of food products, and 70% of soft drink products stocked to be of specific nutritional value whilst limiting less healthy options being actively promoted in store.
