Dumfries man Michael Edwards is shaving off his trademark long hair Today Friday 28th August in aid of the Imogen Edwards Memorial Trust, proceeds going to Asthma UK.
The event will take place at 3pm at Keyline Builders Merchants in Dumfries where he works as the assistant manager.
Michael stated “In February 2014, my beautiful daughter Imogen suffered a fatal asthma attack aged only 17. Since then we have set up a trust called the Imogen Edwards Memorial Trust which we hope will contribute money to Asthma UK.
Imogen was diagnosed with asthma as a small child and although her attacks were often extreme and very frightening, she never let it hold her back and lived every day to it’s fullest. She was an inspiration and everyone who was fortunate enough to know her, was touched by her warm and happy persona. She has left a huge hole in our lives that could never be filled but we are grateful for her life and the love we shared as a family.
I have had long hair for the last 25 years and it has become something of a trademark! I am going perform a sponsored head shave on 28th August at 3pm at Keyline Builders Merchants in Dumfries, where I am the Assistant Manager. I want to raise as much money as possible to give to Asthma UK. Please give as much as you can to help research into this awful disease so that one day a cure might be found.”
