Dumfries Provost Tracey Little Resigns

Councillor for the Lochar area Tracey Little has resigned today from the role of Dumfries Provost that she has held since 2017, Tracey was the second ever female to hold the historic role.
On a post on social media that Tracey shared this morning she stated “With a heavy heart, following yesterday’s Full Council budget setting meeting, I have had to resign my role as Provost of Dumfries.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me in this position. It has been an absolute joy and privilege to be ambassador of my hometown.
I hope my time as Provost has helped to highlight the wonders and beauty that is Dumfries and encouraged more residents and visitors to love it as much as I do. I may not be Provost anymore but I will never stop championing all that is Dumfries.
Finally… to Dumfries, the town that raised me, thank you for all that you gave me – and you gave generously.”
