Dumfries Railway Station has been shortlisted for a national award for the quality of wonderfully colourful gardens.
The Doonhamer’s station is the only Scottish finalist in the UK’s Best Station Garden in the 2015 Community Rail Award’s.This is the 11th year the awrds have been running, and they celebrate the Unsung hero’s and heroines of the community rail world.
Team DGWGO’s Dumfries HQ is right next to the station , so we often admire the colourful flower beds and hanging baskets and floral displays that are the work of railway gardener Louis Wall and his team of volunteers.
The Awards take place on October the 1st at the Rivera International Centre in Torquey.
