Hundreds of people lined the streets of Castle Douglas today, Saturday July the 30th to see the Douglas Day Parade, The highlight of the towns Civic week.
After a showery morning the sun broke through the cloud to shine on the Douglas day parade which set of from Wallets Marts at 2,00pm, hundreds of people spanned the full stretch of the towns King Street, to cheer on as the best display of floats and walkers and pipe bands that Douglas day parade has seen for years.
Organisers were overjoyed with the weather and the fantastic turn out of participants and the huge audience of all ages who were all really enjoying the day.
The Winning Float prize was presented to ‘Boots the Chemist’ Gardenhill Castle Douglas, with their wonderful Wizard of Oz Float, Full results from all the civic week events coming soon .
The party continues in the towns bottom park with live music, stalls and family entertainment, which will be rounded off after 10.00pm with a firework display.
A huge congratulations must go to all the committee and band of volunteers of Castle Dougalas Civic events who put in so much hard work to keep the Civic week events going for all to enjoy.
