NHS Dumfries and Galloway announced todau November the 14th 2017 that Ward 9 at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary is currently closed to all admissions and transfers due to an outbreak of respiratory infection, Influenza B.
Routine visiting has been temporarily suspended.
All infection control measures are in place.
Elaine Ross, Infection Control Manager, says: “We have seen an increase in flu cases in DGRI and in our communities.
“We thank everyone for their support during this time.
“If you have not yet had your flu vaccination, please do not hesitate to do so.
“Simple precautions such as hand hygiene and keeping your hands away from your eyes and mouth can reduce the risk of you catching the virus.”
