FORESTRY WORKER ASSAULTED BY THREE MAN WITH METAL BAR AT GLENTROOL

Assault – Glentrool, Newton Stewart

Police Scotland is investigating an assault on a 25 year old Dutch forestry worker who who was attacked where he was working in the forest about two miles north of Glentrool, Newton Stewart. At around 0800 hours on Saturday 28 March 2015 the victim attended at the forest site to discover three men at his forest forwarder machine, with the engine started. The three men then attacked the victim and assaulted him with a metal bar and made good their escape in a white coloured Ford Transit type van. The victim thereafter contacted his employer to alert him to the assault and police attended the scene. The victim was checked over at hospital where he was found to have bruising and soreness but no broken bones.

The three men are described as being Polish nationals, bald headed with large heads and muscular necks and were wearing tracksuit trousers. The van in which they were travelling has a smashed passenger window.
