Free Healthcare Clinic Opens In Dumfries & Galloway

Homeopathy UK has opened a new charitable clinic in Dumfries and Galloway, offering free homeopathic care to those who might not usually be able to afford it.

Dumfries and Galloway Homeopathy will be headed up by experienced homeopath Elaine Hamilton. After qualifying as a nurse, Elaine studied homeopathy at the Faculty of Homeopathy and Napier University, Edinburgh. She spent 16 years working as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner at the NHS Centre for Integrative Care in Glasgow.

Elaine says: “I became interested in complementary medicine when I fell ill with ME. After recovering, I trained as a homeopath to introduce more people to this wonderful form of medicine.”

Homeopathy is a natural form of complementary medicine which looks at the whole person rather than just symptoms. It can be used alone or in conjunction with conventional medicine to help treat a wide range of ailments and conditions.

Consultations and first prescriptions at Dumfries and Galloway Homeopathy are free of charge. Appointments are available every other Wednesday, 10am-1pm, at Catstrand, High Street, New Galloway, Castle Douglas DG7 3RN.

Dumfries and Galloway Homeopathy – which is funded by charity Homeopathy UK – is part of a network of eight charitable clinics across the UK, including a further three in Scotland. The other clinics are in Edinburgh, Coatbridge, Scottish Borders, Winchester, Liverpool, Kent and Norwich.
