The Scottish Parliament today discussed and commended BBC Scotland on promoting the Galloway Forest Park, and more broadly, South West Scotland with their new six part documentary “The Forest” that aired for the first time earlier this week.
The parliamentary motion stated “That the Parliament commends BBC Scotland on its recent television show, The Forest, which is based on the Galloway Forest in South West Scotland; understands that the show was filmed over a six-month period and captures various aspects of life, work, history and culture around the area; notes that the show features local wildlife rangers, tree planters, astronomers and even rally drivers, and is an eye-opener to people living outside the South West as to the huge advantages and wealth of things to do, visit and see; congratulates the programme director, Jack Warrender, originally from a farm in South Ayrshire, and his team on their excellent work, and encourages all to watch the show over the next five weeks.”
