Galloway and West Dumfries MSP Finlay Carson was delighted to be in attendance at the Scottish Council for National Park’s annual conference to hear more about plans for a national park in his constituency.
Mr Carson, who has continually pushed for a national park in his region since being elected in 2016, heard from former MSP Sir Alex Fergusson and Dame Barbara Kelly who are driving forward the plans for a national park in Galloway.
Mr Carson believes the conference was another important step to outline the many benefits a national park would bring to Galloway to a wider audience and Mr Carson says he will continue to do everything he can to make the plans a reality.
Commenting Finlay Carson said: “It was great to be in attendance at the national park conference, particularly to hear more about the plans for a national park in Galloway.
“I can’t think of a better location than the stunning area I represent to be the site for Scotland’s third national park and the case is being put forward so passionately by all those involved with the Galloway National Park Association.
“Making these plans a reality is a top priority for me and the national park would bring massive tourism benefits to our region.
“We need more national parks right across Scotland which was the resounding message from today’s conference and I will continue to work closely with those at the heart of the campaign to deliver that.”
