Twelve colourful gardens in a small hamlet near Thornhill will once again open their gates to the public in the name of charity.
Green-fingered residents of Gatelawbridge, three miles from the Ducal village, will hold an open garden day on the afternoon of Sunday, August 24, to help swell the coffers of the local Macmillan fundraising group.
From 1pm to 5pm, visitors are invited to take a leisurely stroll around the hamlet and appreciate the hard work, pride and care that Gatelawbridge residents have put into making their gardens beautiful.
Afternoon tea will be served in the marquee where visitors will be treated to the music of harps.
On the day, the local Macmillan group will also be holding bric-a-brac stall, tombola and plant stall and would welcome any donations of bottles, plants or miscellany to help the cause.
Tickets are £6 and include car parking and teas.
