POLITICS enthusiast Nathan King from Sanquhar un Dumfries and Galloway, a finalist in the most recent ITV2 series of ‘Big Brother,’ has visited the Houses of Parliament in London as guest of his local MP.
The 24-year-old former Wallace Hall Academy pupil became a star of the show along with his now girlfriend Cornwall-based Rosie Williams, 29, after their on-screen developing romance was closely followed by viewers.
Both have spent time in recent weeks at Nathan’s family home in the town with parents Sharon and Robert.
Nathan, who has a passion for politics, wrote to his long-serving local MP David Mundell and was delighted when he arranged a meeting and a tour of the Palace of Westminster, including the House of Commons and House of Lords.
“For a geek about politics like me that was just so exciting and a bucket list item ticked off,” posted Nathan on his Tik Tok social media account later.
David Mundell said: “I was delighted to meet Nathan and arrange his tour of what are, in many respects at least, very different televised houses to that on Big Brother.
“I’m glad Nathan enjoyed his visit. It is always healthy and encouraging to meet young people with such a strong interest in our democratic process.”
